Jesse Michaels Fronts New Band, Classics Of Love

Jesse Michaels, former vocalist/lyricist of Common Rider, and Operation Ivy, started a new band in November of last year called Classics Of Love. Named after an old Common Rider song, the band features Michaels on vocals and the San Jose band Hard Girls backing him up with guitar, bass and drums. Classics of Love has already traveled over to England and cut a 6 song EP called Walking In The Shadows, which they played a record release show for at The Gilman this past Saturday night. The show, which included a cover of Common Rider's "Carry On" and Op Ivy's "The Crowd", was apparently the first time that Jesse had played Gilman with a full band in over 20 years! It was a night to remember for sure. Check out this video, from a previous show in the U.K. for the song "Time Flies"
